Eat Well, Support Local

During this strange and confusing time, food is a comfort as much as it is a necessity, and you can help support your local community simply by shopping locally. At the Beacon House Hotel we pride ourselves on using local food suppliers wherever possible as we aim to give you the true Cornish experience – and we do this all year round.

While the chaos of the world surrounds us, let’s look forward to happier, healthier and calmer times and imagine the dishes you can be eating when we reopen and you visit us at the Beacon House Hotel.

Our menus are chosen to highlight the delights of fresh, local produce, and are based on seasonal ingredients that will make your visit to us even more memorable. From freshly caught fish of the day, to succulent meats and creamy cheeses, we have something to suit every palate. Our in house chef does a truly remarkable job of making every ingredient shine, and it only seems fair that we introduce you to the producers who supply us with such excellent quality ingredients.

Rob Carr Butchers

Based in St Agnes itself, Rob Carr butchers provides us with the best cuts of local Cornish meat. His close relationship with local farmers means that he has an unrivalled understanding of the meat he sells and gives us complete confidence that we are serving our guests with the best quality meat.

John Earl Fish

All of our fish and shellfish comes from John Earl in Chapel Porth. There’s nothing better than freshly caught fish, and you won’t get much fresher than this!

West Country Fruit and Vegetables

Why relegate vegetables to side dishes when they can be the star of the show?! The fresh fruit and vegetables we receive from West Country are of the highest quality. They are full of flavour and really hold their own next to our delicious proteins.

Rodda’s Clotted Cream

We wouldn’t be a Cornish hotel if we didn’t offer fabulous clotted cream, and there’s none better than Rodda’s! Rodda’s started in 1890 when Eliza Jane Rodda began making clotted cream out of the kitchen in her Cornish farmhouse – and they’ve been making it ever since.

Callestick Farm Ice Cream

Perfect to lift the palate after a rich meal, Callestick Farm is one of our more recent suppliers, providing us with fabulous ice cream and sorbets. The same family recipe has been used for generations – why change perfection?! Made with fresh whole milk and all natural ingredients, we’re sure it’ll become your favourite too.

Wine and Beer

Of course, no meal is complete without your favourite tipple, and we go the extra mile to select drinks that go perfectly with the food we offer. The majority of our wine and beer comes from Cornish vineyards and breweries and are chosen especially for you to enjoy. Our suppliers include:

While we are aware of the chaos currently consuming the world, we hope you enjoyed reading about our fantastic local suppliers, and we would urge you to remember to support local businesses like these over the coming months. Supporting your local companies now will help them survive this difficult time and be ready to thrive when they can throw open their doors once more. We are already looking forward to welcoming you back into our beautiful hotel to enjoy our culinary delights, and we hope to see you soon!
